My AHHHHHHHH moment

instead of an Aha moment I had an AHHHHH (picture me screaming) moment today when while I was on the phone with my sis-in-law. Bubba was playing in the backyard and I was making his lunch. I went outside (while on the phone) to tell him that lunch was ready. He started to walk up the deck stairs, he made up about half way so like 8 stairs when he decided to throw something over the railing towards the grass. Well in this small motion of throwing, he lost his balance and fell down 8 trex deck stairs and landed head first on the concrete patio below. I freaked out and hung up the phone (sorry sis), ran down the stairs and grabbed him and carried him in the house. At this very moment Little miss is in her high chair screaming to get out and the door bell rings (naturally) with the guy that is to be installing my new carpet. I could have seriously just screamed at that moment but the guy came in and he and I checked out Bubba who actually seemed to be better off than I had first dreaded. After a few serious bumps and bruises, one cut, a possible black eye and a very smashed finger I think he's going to make it. He spent the rest of the day riding his bike so no permanent damage done. I truly picked a crappy day to quite drinking Dr. Pepper (again).

What, no pic of the banged up face...or the new carpet? C'mon!!! :) I must have been at the store during the backyard trauma because for sure I would have heard the commotion and would have run over to help!
By the way, I'm laughing my guts out that Carson asked Nathan to raise his bike seat tonight. Sam has been trying to convince Carson to let him raise the seat for over a month. Carson comes home tonight and says "Nathan raised my seat and my bike feels so much better!" Sheesh....maybe nathan can be Carson's Deacon teacher or something because clearly he knows better than dad...and Carson will trust him! Please don't ever move. :)

How scarry! Life is like that isn't it? Sometimes nothing happens for days and then everything happens at once like that! I'm glad he's okay!

Poor thing! At least you are getting new carpet.

I'm surprised you even said on the phone, "I gotta go!" before hanging up! No need to apologize! Completely understandable and I would've done the same thing. I'm so sorry he got so banged up:( Not fun! Glad to know he's alright though. I'll bring the surger on Saturday to the Easter festivities so you can check it out. Still can't find the stupid cord, though!

It's not fair when it all comes together like that! Glad to hear everyone survived.
