are you freakin kidding me?

I know that my last few posts haven't exactly been the most cheery and this one won't either. Last night or I guess I should say this morning at 3am Austin had another one of his coughing fits. He's been sleeping in my bed since Nathan is gone and also because he sleeps better there when he's sick. Well he was sort of sleeping between hideous coughing fits that always lead to choking. He at this time (3am) had been up 4 times and had actually turned blue 3 times (just his lips but still), when I hear..... Thud.... Thud..... CRASH! I immediately know what has happened. There are instant screams followed by the WONDERFUL coughing fit and of course the choking. Can't forget the choking, have I mentioned how much I love the choking???? Anyways, Austin had fallen off my bed. I have a log pine bed that sits 4 feet off the floor. And as if that weren't bad enough we also have log pine night stands that are up against the top of the bed. So naturally he hit the nightstand noggin first and truly just to add insult to injury, the drawer on Nathan's night stand was opened just a enough to expose the sharp unforgiving corner that impaled itself through my son's forehead at 3am! I honestly couldn't make this stuff up. He then hit the huge knot that protrudes out of the side rail and finally came to his crashing halt on the floor. The poor kid has the largest goose egg that he has ever had (hard to do trust me ) as well as a chunk of hyde missing from the forehead area. He also looks like someone took a bat to his cheek. Amidst all the screaming and choking I hear a little girls voice who decided that there was simply too much action for one to sleep through and she joins into my mix of fun. She decides to take matters into her own hands and attempts to find her own exit strategy out of her crib. I run and catch her as she is climbing over the top rail to get out then we both return to the scene of the crash. It took me one bottle (for Paityn) and one blankey(for Austin) to get things under control. 1 hour later we were all back to bed with the exception of Daisy who decided to start barking (which she never does) at what I can only assume was a home invader that heard the commotion and didn't want any part of it because she finally stopped and we never had an intruder thank goodness. So that was my night and I'm at the point now that this is all very funny because there is really only a few things left that could top all of this. I do have to say that if I have to go to Insta-Care one more time I'm pretty positive that CPS will get involved!!!

BLast! You really can't make that stuff up, it is too good! I am sorry you had a rough night. Give that noggin an extra kiss for us, maybe it will heal faster.

Dang girl! That's alot to take in for one night! Not to mention the days leading up to that! You are entitled to your own little getaway! Let Nathan take the kids for a weekend! Hope austin is doing better now. See you on Thursday~!
