Horrible timing

With this wonderful time of year upon us my camera decided to "take a break" and by break I do mean BREAK! My camera totally broke on Christmas Eve!!!! So, I have sooooo many cute pictures of Bubba and Little Miss Pai at our palithura of parties that we have attended in the last week but they are stuck in video form on my video camera and I'm missing the crucial video cable to upload them on to my computer! I even was unable to get a stellar picture of Bubba's new shiner. He totally smacked his cheek into the bottom rail of a chair and it immediately turned purple. As you are finding out I'm currently technology challenged!!!!!! HELP ME!
I'm taking advice on getting a new camera so if you have an awesome one please let me know about it because I totally don't know what is a good one anymore, there's simply tooooo many out there.
