To my poor neglected blog, thank you for not judging me and for not being hurt or sad that I have so badly neglected you lately. To my poor neglected friends, thank you also for not hating me for NEVER updating my blog. Just like the rest of you my life has been super crazy with the holidays, and I know that's not a very good excuse but I'm using it! Since I last updated back in November for Thanksgiving so much has happened.
First we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday with a surprise party that my Mother and I put together! It was lots of fun and I'm still amazed at just how many people showed up!!! My Dad was excited and equally amazed that so many people would want to celebrate a moment just for him. Thanks to all who came (if your reading this) because it was a blast!
Shortly after that party we started the plethora of Christmas parties and Birthday parties that we do every December. Both of Nathan's parents also have birthday's in December so between our 4 parents, 3 have December birthday's. Busy month!
Christmas was a blast. Austin and Paityn were very excited that Santa found them at Grammy and Papa's house. Austin could not have been funnier Christmas morning, I woke him up at about 8am by saying "Austin wake up it's CHRISTMAS"!!! He jumped out of bed with the largest eyes I have ever seen and said "Christmas? Did Santa come for me?" It was hysterical to watch him and Paityn. This is the first year that Austin has really understood just what was going on. Paityn had fun but I know next year will be even more fun for her.
I believe that we attended 3 parties on Christmas day alone, not to mention the ones that followed for the next few days. Needless to say that by New Years Eve, I was familied out and just in time for one more party. We had the annual Quincy New Year's party at Colin's house and it was really fun. We over ate, played games and laughed way to much!!! A perfect way to start off a new year.
Life is beginning to return to normal however, Nathan's brother Cody is coming home from his mission to Argentina tonight! YEAH. We will be going to pick him up at the airport tonight at 11pm. This should be exciting with all the new security but it will be worth it.
For those of you following us on our House Search......."Any Day Now" seems to be our motto. We are just waiting for a woman with Chase bank to sign a piece of paper so that we can buy this house. We have been waiting for her for about 2 months. We are still hanging in there but we are very anxious to get this house and get settled back into our own lives. Living with my parents has been good though. We all had some serious bouts with illness this season and I wouldn't have been able to cope if we hadn't been here. Plus my kids have Grammy to put them in the bath tub every night, which they really look forward to all day long. They are loving having Grammy so close and at their disposal all the time.
I hope your holidays were great and that you survived. As soon as I find the power cord to my camera I will upload some pictures, however I feel that it is packed away in my PODS so the chances of that happening seem to be about as good as me hearing good news on this house today! SLIM!!! I would really like to hear today because I have a bet with my Mother in Law and I want to win a fee dinner!!!!! CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!
