Cheery Love and Meal exchange

The last few weeks I have been thinking of an old friend of mine named Cheery Love. I met her on my wedding day when my mother and mother in law hired her to "roast" or make fun of me and Nathan at our wedding luncheon. She is one of the funniest people. It just happened that her nail technician worked at the Salon that I did hair at, at that time so she became my client and my new friend!!! After about 4 years of doing her hair I suddenly lost all contact with her. Over the last 3 years I have been wondering and worrying about how she was and what she was up to. I was worried for her health and when I hadn't heard from her I assumed the worst. Then out of the blue on Saturday afternoon as I was preparing for a different hair client my phone rang. It was CHEERY!!! She had lost my # and had spent the last 3 years trying to get it back. She had been in and out of the hospital and had her other leg amputated (due to complications with diabetes) but all in all was doing well!!! She came over for a hair cut and a long over due visit. I had missed her so much and I am sooooo happy to know that she is ok and that we are back in contact!!!

The other fun thing about my CRAZY Saturday was that the Meal Exchange Group that I host went off without a hitch!!! We had 7 women at this group so we should have had 7 meals but since my family is smaller, I was able to split most of my meals in half creating 2 dinners. This meal exchange proved to be very economical!! I walked away with 11 meals and only had to spend $65!!! That's an average cost of $5.90 per meal!!!!! You really can't beat that. So now my freezer is stocked full and it didn't cost me much at all. I love doing the meal exchange. I will be putting another one together in a month or two. Whenever I get enough freezer space.

What a smart idea! You must be your mother's daughter!

Next time you do that I want to come, or maybe we should do that for an enrichment. Cool idea. Your little man is too precious.
