My neighbors keep telling me that this kind of stuff only happens to me and I truly think they are right. So on Tuesday May 31st while at work for the last day of the school year (for me) I hit my elbow/ funny bone on a large safe. Picture a 5 foot gun safe and that's what I hit. No we don't store guns in it... I was putting something on the shelf just above the safe and slammed my elbow on the top corner of the safe on the way down.
The pain was instant and above and beyond any pain that I have endured which is sayin something. Childbirth, kidney stones, broken ribs, the list is long but this truly hurt worse! The burning sensation subsided after about 30 minutes then my had was finally numb. It stayed numb for 4 freakin hours! Then they tingled. This went on for a few days and my Mom suggested that I had done serious damage and needed to see a Dr. I hate admitting when she's right so I told her that I would go just to prove that I hadn't done anything but hit my "funny bone" too hard.
She was right. It comes down to the fact that I BROKE my Funny Bone! Who does that!!? I put this one on my list of stupid injuries that I have caused myself....this list is longer than you would think!
I Compression fractured my elbow and nearly severed my Ulnar Nerve that causes the great pain when you hit your funny bone. So if you were ever wondering...YES you can actually hit your funny bone hard enough to cause damage.
