pumpkin cake and soccer

I have been really busy lately with all my "projects" that I give myself to do. I like to keep busy to keep myself out of trouble so here's a bit of what i've been working on this summer and fall.
I bottled: 11 quarts of peaches
14 quarts of Apple Pie Filling
48 pints of Salsa
36 pints of stewed tomatoes
14 pints of Spaghetti sauce
110 1/2 pints of blackberry jam
14 quarts of Fresh Salsa
1 Fall/ Halloween dress with purse and matching headband
2 Aprons (so far)
2 Seashell picture frames
and loads of crafts with my kiddos! It's been busy but my pantry is really filling up!
I also attempted to make a pumpkin cake, or a cake in the shape of a pumpkin since it was just a white cake and not made out of pumpkin! It turned out really cute except the face cause the writting frosting that I used kept melting and running down the cake. i ended up putting it in the fridge to get cold and hard so it would stop running.
This Fall Austin's also been playing soccer. It's been really fun to watch him figure out the whole thing. The first two games were pretty rough, he didn't score and pretty much stood there or cried cause the other kids would steal the ball from him. In the 3rd game he scored a goal and that changed everything! He really started to steal the ball and dribble it down field. his ball control has come a long way and with the last three games he scored atleast 2 goals a game! In one game he scored 4 goals and was mad that he didn't score more! he's the smallest on his team and one of the smallest in the league but he sure does love to play and had a great time. We can't wait for Spring season to start!!
